Carl selected to CSCAA Hall of Fame Class of 2026

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Peggy Carl, the long-time head coach of men's and women's swimming and diving, was named to the CSCAA Hall of Fame Class of 2026 on Monday, November 24.
 
Carl spent 18 years at Occidental from 1990-2008, serving as a coach, administrator and interim Director of Athletics.
 
In her time with the Tigers, Carl sent Ed Bedford, Robert Dohring, Dickson Fai and Jon Dohring to the NCAA Division III Championships.  
 
As a coach at both Oxy and Carleton, Carl's squads represented at 20 of 25 NCAA Championships and collected 24 All-American honors and two individual championships in her time. Most notably, Carl led Jon Dohring to national titles in both the one and three-meter dives at the 2007 championships. Carl's teams earned CSCAA All-Academic honors in each of her 25 seasons.
 
Outside of coaching, Carl assumed the role of interim Director of Athletics in the 1999-2000 season. She was subsequently named the Tigers' Associate Athletics Director and Senior Woman Administrator.
 
Following Occidental, Carl made stops at Beloit College, Salem State University, the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) and Mansfield University. She held Director of Athletics roles at each instituation and was the NCAC's Coordinator of Research and Special Projects. Carl is currently the Associate Director of Athletics at Mansfield.
 
Outside of athletics administration, Carl served on a number of NCAA committees, including as the chair of the NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships Committee from 2002-2004.
 
Carl and the other members of the CSCAA Hall of Fame Class of 2026 will be ushered in on May 4, 2026 during the CSCAA Annual Awards Celebration, hosted at the Loews Chicago.
