Eight nab first-place finishes at Redlands Invite

REDLANDS, Calif. – Track & Field competed at the Redlands Invite on Saturday, March 14, earning a combined eight first-place victories.
 
Shane Kawakami-Williams continued his stellar start to the 2025 season, winning both the 100 and 200-meter dash. He notched 10.93 in the 100 and 22.06 in the 200. Just behind him in both races was Zachary McGraw. They were the only two runners to go sub-11 in the 100 – 10.98. He finished the 200-meter dash in 22.32.
 
James Buellesbach built off his USTFCCCA All-Region honor last week, picking up another first-place finish in the 110-meter hurdles. Buellesbach finished under 15 seconds of the second-straight week, completing the victory in 14.98.
 
Fred Reed and Khylee Jackson tied for first in the high jump. Both first years cleared 1.75 meters (5'8.75").
 
On the women's side, Elizabeth Hawley picked up a first-place finish in the 100-meter dash. Sweeping the 100 on both sides, Hawley's 12.68 was .05 seconds off her time a week ago.
 
Delphine Way placed first in the women's 400-meter dash with a time just north of one minute – 1:00.63 – a full second ahead of the next fastest finisher.
 
Brooke Tompkins won the 400-meter hurdles, thrashing the competition with a time of 1:08.50. Tompkins placed first in that event in three of her four attempts this season.
 
Zoey Hrabe rounded out the first-place nods, winning the pole vault. For the second week in a row, Hrabe won the event. This time she cleared 3.05 before faulting at 3.20.
 
The Tigers are back in action in on March 28 at the CSUM Mangrum Invite in San Marcos.
