Men's 4x1 headlines stellar Saturday in Claremont

CLAREMONT, Calif. — Occidental College registered multiple top finishes at the Salo & Crenna Invite on Saturday, highlighted by the men's 4x100 meter relay team securing first place with the fourth-fastest time in program history.

SPRINTS  
The men's 4x1 with Collin Glick, Shane Kawakami-Williams, Emerson Ames and Zachary McGraw earned the program's fastest time since 2015, running a 40.97.

In the women's 100 meter dash, Emma Shiffler finished 2nd with a time of 12.55, while Phoebe Ogden placed 5th in 12.92. Isabelle Graff was 9th, clocking 13.17. In the men's 100 meter dash, Ames secured 2nd place with a time of 10.90, followed by McGraw in 4th at 11.07.

 In the women's 200 meter dash, Ogden and Shiffler took 3rd and 4th with times of 26.11 and 26.12, respectively. Alex Ellis captured 2nd in the men's 200 meter dash, clocking 22.54.

MID DISTANCE
Delphine Way finished 2nd in the women's 800 meter run with a time of 2:15.67 - good enough for 10th in program history. John Cutler was 8th in the men's 800 meter run, finishing in 2:01.17.

HURDLES
Brooke Tompkins won the women's 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:07.06. In the men's 400 meter hurdles, Peter Villano claimed 1st place with a time of 56.05, followed by Derek Jimenez in 3rd at 58.74.

JUMPS
In the women's pole vault, Zoey Hrabe placed 2nd with a height of 3.35m. Jordan Chau won the men's high jump, clearing 1.80m, with Sy Coles in 2nd at 1.75m.

THROWS
Kayla Sepulveda took first place in the women's shot put with a distance of 11.38m, while Uma Kucera finished 4th with a throw of 10.00m. Sepulveda's mark was 10th in program history. 

In the men's javelin throw, Maurice Romanyshyn placed 2nd with a throw of 51.67m.
