CLAREMONT, Calif. – Track and Field traveled to Claremont for a meet at Pomona-Pitzer over the weekend.
Â
There were some high-placing finishes on the men's side, with three events placing third on the day.
James Buellesbach notched a second-place finish and SCIAC-best time in the 110 hurdles. He ran the event in 14.61, .18 off his personal-best and 14
th-best time in the nation – 14.43 from March 19 at Redlands.
Â
Jack Elfenbaum's 3:52.23 in the 1500 was a career-best and earned a second-place finish at the meet. That mark is good enough for 26
th in Division III, with less than a second between him and 15
th place.
Â
The men's 4x4 relay showed out, running the sixth-fastest time in the nation and second-best at the meet. A 3:14.51, while it marks just third in the SCIAC, would firmly qualify for nationals at this point in the season. Led off by
Peter Villano, the relay was comprised of
Shane Kawakami-Williams,
Zachary McGraw and
Alex Ellis.
Â
On the women's side, the 4x4 relay also ran at a high level, running a DIII-best 3:53.75. That group with
Amelia Vena, Pheobe Ogden,
Skylar Cottell and
Delphine Way notched their best time on Saturday, 24
th in the country.
Â
Mai Linh Wong had the best meet of any Tiger field athlete. Wong is nearly a tenth of a meter above this point a season ago. She cleared 1.47 at the 2025 SCIAC Championships and looks to soar over new heights at the end of April.
Â
The Tigers are back in action next week with the squad splitting across the 210 freeway, with some athletes travelling to La Verne and others at Azusa Pacific.
