Tigers rebound with win over Caltech

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (April 10, 2010) – After seeing their winning streak snapped, the Tigers came right back and swept the Beavers, in their final home match of the year.  Oxy has won four of five and has one more match before heading to the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament.

Oxy put on a dominating performance, as the doubles teams put together three straight wins, surrendering only three game wins as they rolled to an overall game score of 24-3.

Chris Wan and Victor Sowers pulled out the only shutout, cruising at the number one doubles position.

The Tigers rode that momentum into singles, coming out with four more shutouts, dropping only seven games in the first five singles matches.

Stephen Perkins came up with back to back 6-0 sets, at the number five singles position, coming up the best performance from start to finish in this portion of the dual match.

The Tigers (9-7, 2-4) head to Cal Poly Pomona for their final regular season match on Sunday, April 11th, with first serve scheduled for 11 am.
