PASADENA, Calif. (April 10, 2010) – The Tigers picked up another win this morning, traveling to Caltech to hand the host Beavers a Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference loss, by the final score of 9-0. The win also extended their current winning streak to three, giving them momentum, as they head into the SCIAC conference tournament this coming weekend.
Oxy rolled to a 3-0 lead after doubles, led by solid all around play from all three teams.
Singles brought with it some closer matches, after Kris Subbiah and Marissa Cassman rolled to victories, Frances Hutton had to go the distance, winning 6-2, 3-6, 1-0 (10-4).
Maria Stewart had the toughest test, dropping her opening set, before storming back to by a final of 4-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-4).
Next up the Tigers (6-11, 2-4) head to Whittier College for the SCIAC conference tournament which takes place April 16th and 17th, with first serve to be announced later this week.
