Tigers snap streak

PASADENA, Calif. – The Black and Orange snapped their three match Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference skid with a 7-2 win over the Caltech Beavers.

The Tigers started early in this one, opening with an 8-5 victory by Spencer Choy and Jordan Brown to kick off doubles play.  Caltech responded with a win of its own but Josh Capelle and David Cotton answered right back with an 8-2 victory to stake the Black and Orange to a 2-1 lead going into singles.

Oxy stretched the lead by reeling off four consecutive wins, as Jeremy Shapiro, Stefan Pastor, Choy, and Brown each notched straight set victories.  Leading 6-2 in the dual match Kevin Siebs finished off the day with a 6-0, 6-2 win to lock in the 7-2 SCIAC win.

Oxy (5-10, 1-3) travel to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Friday, April 8th, with first serve scheduled for 2pm.
