PASADENA, Calif. – The Black and Orange snapped their
three match Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference
skid with a 7-2 win over the Caltech Beavers.
The Tigers started early in this one, opening with an 8-5
victory by Spencer Choy and Jordan
Brown to kick off doubles play. Caltech responded
with a win of its own but Josh Capelle and
David Cotton answered right back with an 8-2
victory to stake the Black and Orange to a 2-1 lead going into
singles.
Oxy stretched the lead by reeling off four consecutive wins, as
Jeremy Shapiro, Stefan Pastor,
Choy, and Brown each notched straight set victories. Leading
6-2 in the dual match Kevin Siebs finished off the
day with a 6-0, 6-2 win to lock in the 7-2 SCIAC win.
Oxy (5-10, 1-3) travel to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Friday,
April 8th, with first serve scheduled for 2pm.
