LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The Tigers played hard against the 3rd ranked Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Stags in Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action. The Black and Orange just couldn't win the big points to put enough pressure on the Stags, falling 8-1 this afternoon.
After dropping the opening two matches in doubles, Jeremy Shapiro and Jordan Brown made the third match of doubles a battle, falling 9-8 in a set that was closer than the score indicated.
CMS rolled through the first two singles matches before Spencer Choy made the third singles dual interesting, falling 7-5 in a fantastic first set, before being swept.
Stephen Perkins broke through for Oxy, winning at the number five position, 6-2, 4-6, 11-9 for the sole Tigers match victory on the day.
The Tigers (5-11, 1-4) will be back on the courts Saturday (April 16th) when they host Cal Lutheran University. First serve is scheduled 10am.
