ANAHEIM — Ama Oparison (Bradenton, Fla.) and Keilani Ericksen (Waimalo, Hawaii) were both competitive at No. 1 and No 2 singles, respectively.

But the Occidental College women's tennis team struggled in its first SCIAC match of the year, losing to Chapman 9-0 at the Anaheim Hills Tennis Center on Saturday.

Oparison fell to Andrea Hammer 6-1, 3-6, 6-4 and Ericksen lost to Sophia Duong 7-6, 2-6, 6-4.

The Tigers fall to 1-4 overall and 0-1 in SCIAC play. They return to Oxy on March 10 to face Vassar College in a non-conference match at noon.
