LOS ANGELES — Led by Kevin Siebs and Avery Chernin at No. 2 and 3 singles, the Occidental men's tennis team cruised past Austin College 8-1 for its for victory of the season on Friday.
Siebs handled Cedric Ambulo without much of an issue, 6-1, 6-0 and Chernin easily beat Spencer Gander 6-0, 6-0.
Josh Dancu improved to 3-1 as Oxy's No. 1, defeating Adam Dokos 6-1, 6-0.
The only point the Tigers missed was No. 1 doubles.
"It was the best tennis we've played all year," Oxy head coach Brian Newhall said. "From top to bottom, we got a complete effort from all of our players."
Oxy improves to 1-3 on the season.
The Tigers play at Whittier on Saturday and then host the Polytechnic Institute of New York on Sunday.
