LOS ANGELES -- Oxy captain Trevor Brown and the men's tennis team won its first match in over a year, beating Hope International 5-4 on Thursday.

Brown picked up a big win at No. 5 singles, 6-2, 6-1. First years William Poma and Ivan Derrick also picked up singles wins. Poma won at No. 3 and Derrick won at No. 6.

Derrick and Isa Kibira teammed up for an important victory at No. 3 doubles, outlasting the Hope team despite high winds that made for adverse playing conditions. 

Season Impact: The Tigers move to 1-3 on the season.

Next Match: Oxy is back in action on March 13 against Dennison.
