LOS ANGELES — Samantha Farrell and the Occidental women's tennis team swept Whittier, 9-0 at home on Saturday.

Farrell, Oxy's best player, beat Amanda Rodriguez at No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-4, and teamed up with Lauren Hutkin for a win over Rodriguez and Maddie Schmidt at No. 1 doubles, 8-6.

Maxine Krygier, Nicole Castro, Andrea Clawson, Anya Silverman-Stoloff and Nicole Pelletier won the No. 2-6 singles matches in that order.

Krygier and Castro beat Venezia Moyano and Karrisa Lee at No. 2 doubles, 8-0, and Clawson and Alana Adelman blanked Sarah Modina and Esther Lee, 8-0 at No. 3 doubles.

It's Oxy's first 9-0 victory since 2013 when it beat Mills College by the same margin.

Season Impact: The Tigers improve to 3-8 overall and 1-2 in SCIAC matches.
