LOS ANGELES —Eamon McNeil hit a three run bomb, Nolan McCarthy was outstanding on the hill and the Occidental baseball team finished off its Friday doubleheader with a second victory over Dickinson, 9-1 at Anderson Field.
McCarthy, a 6-foot-5 sophomore from Portland, pitched seven scoreless innings, striking out six batters without a walk and just four hits. Alex Marlow pitched a perfect eighth and Jeff Oki closed the door in the ninth.
McNeil's homer came during a five-run first inning that gave McCarthy a comfortable cushion to pitch with.

Angelo Zorn was 2 for 3 with a pair of runs scored, Michael Netzel was 1 for 4 with an RBI and a run scored, JP Flores was 1 for 3 with a run scored, Dean Abramson was 1 for 3 with a walk, and Jack Brancheau was 1 for 3 with a run scored and two walks.
Oxy beat Dickinson 6-4 in Game 1 on Friday.
