Claremont, CA – The Occidental women's tennis team took on Pomona-Pitzer Saturday at the Sagehen's home courts. The Tigers looked for opportunities to take the lead but eventually lost the duel.

At #1 Doubles, juniors Andei Fukushige and Sarah Fleming made a good run, stringing together points won with aggressive plays at the net. They got four games before losing their pro-set.

At #3 Singles Dana Edson pushed for a second set comeback, managing to get four games before losing the match. The first-year won many points with her big serve and sharp shot-making.

Alexis Matabuena, a sophomore, also managed to get more games in her second set at the #4 spot. Andei Fukushige nearly got a set under her belt in her match at #1 against a finalist in last year's ITA Fall Regional Championship.

Next match: The women take on Mary Washington at 4:00pm on Wednesday, March 2nd. The match will be played at home at the McKinnon Family Tennis Center.
