Close Match Between the Tigers and Panthers

Los Angeles, CA — The Occidental women's tennis team ended their season at home in a close match against Chapman University, falling 5-4 to the Panthers.

Oxy had some impressive wins, particularly in doubles when Andei Fukushige and Sarah Fleming dominated the match, 8-1. In singles, the Tigers showed up, winning three matches, Fukushige (5-7, 6-2, 6-1), Fleming (6-4, 7-5), and Julia Chun (3-6, 6-3, 6-4).

The Tigers are losing two seniors, Xavi Campbell and Katie Wolber, who have led the team on and off the court. Although they could never be replaced, having such a young and talented team should make for an exciting season next year.
