Tiger Speed and Power Compete at Pomona-Pitzer All Comers

Los Angeles, CA – The Occidental track and field traveled to Pomona, CA to compete at the Sagehens' annual All-Comers meet. The Tigers were able to show off the immense amount of growth since last season and compete against other outstanding athletes. Many athletes set out to beat their lifetime bests and set new season's bests that they'll continue to work after as the season unfolds.

Hurdle U showed up strong in the men's 400 hurdles, leading with Jonah Magill in second with a time of 55.74 and Harrison Williams in fifth with 58.30, both setting lifetime bests. Baruch Goodman found himself in the top 10 of the men's 200m dash (23.05). Nico Morales found himself also in the top 10 of the men's javelin with his second attempt throw of 125'. First year Evan Lieber picked up just over 6 feet in the discus since the Oxy/PP Dual, throwing 77'6".

Eliza Hawley had a time of 13.07 in the women's 100m dash and placed seventh. Additionally, Karis Palomino and Tia Akasaki set PRs in the 100m dash.  Palomino improved her time from the Rossi Relays in 2022 of 13.44 to 13.31.  Akasaki ran the 100m in 14.32. She added another PR to her day in to 200m dash, running 29.81, improving on her time from the SCIAC Multi Dual last spring..
