Los Angeles, CA – The Occidental track and field team competed at the Redlands invite, hosted by the University of Redlands. The Tigers were able to compete against athletes from other SCIAC schools along with schools from outside the conference. It was a great opportunity for the Tigers to compete and watch other high class athletes. Additionally, many Tigers had immense PRs to end their spring break on a high note.

On the women's side, Eliza Hawley, Alexa Poremba, and Paige Villanueva set new lifetime bests in the women's 200m. Tia Akasaki set a major PR by bringing her time down by 0.6 seconds. The women's 4x1 team consisting of Palomino, Candelieri, Watkins, and Hawley, continue to bring down their time, setting a new PR for the season.  For the men, Jacob Torres flew over the hurdles at immense speed to set a new PR in the 400H and earned him third overall. Lukas Affeltranger placed first in his heat for the 100m dash. Tye Hernandez had an amazing 110 hurdles performance by PR'ing by 0.11 seconds and placing in the top 10 overall. Nick Martin breezed through the 400m like it was easy and sets a new PR. On the field, Sam Berger had a great day by PR'ing the the hammer throw by almost 20 feet.

On Friday, March 24, 2023, a select few Tigers from the distance team will be competing at the Bob Larsen Distance Carnival at UCLA while a few sprinters will be heading to the Cal State San Marcos Invite.
