Los Angeles, CA – The Occidental Men's Tennis Team held their own in a difficult match against Hope International University on Monday and battled until the very last point. The Tigers clinched their first point in the doubles portion of the match, where Seniors Matthew O'Connor and Seth Lipe won their number one doubles match 8-6 over Hope. 

In the singles portion of the match, three Tigers grabbed points for the team to push the match to the end. Senior Matthew O'Connor got a quick point for the team in his two set match at the number one spot, going 6-4,6-2. First-Year Isaac Herrenkohl battled out his match in the number four singles match to three sets, winning 6-4,0-6,6-4 to get another point for the team. In the number two singles match, First-Year Ronald Chen fought off four match points in the second set to win and push the match to three sets, going 4-6,7-5,6-3 to clinch the fourth point for the Tigers. The team kept it close, ultimately losing 4-5 against a competitive Hope International.

The Men's Tennis Team will travel to their next match on Friday, March 31st, where they will play at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps at 3:00pm.
