Tigers Continue to Raise the Bar at the Mangrum Invitational

Los Angeles, CA – Eleven speedy Tigers headed out to Cal State San Marcos to compete in the Mangrum Invitational. Jonah Magill competed in the 400 hurdles, Merrick Hoel in the women's 1500m, Ciara Gillen in the women's 5000m, Jenna Lenay in the women's 10000m, Amir Barkan, Matthew Vickers, Aidan Lindhe-Johan, and Renn Stearns in the men's 5000m, and Jacob Torres, Nick Leon, Nick Martin, and Baruch Goodman made up the men's 4x4 team. Although it was a smaller team than usual, the Tigers still managed to make a statement in their performances.

For the women, Gillen placed in the top 10 and Lenay placed third overall in their respective events. Gillen and Lenay's times also earned themselves well-deserved PRs, and Hoel earned herself a season's best. On the men's side, Barkan comes up just shy of the top 10 in 11th overall in his event. Lindhe-Johan sets a new PR for himself while Barkan, Vickers, and Stearns set new seasonal records for themselves. The men's 4x4 team faced some tough competitors, but they didn't let that shake them and placed sixth overall.

The Tigers will be competing in and hosting the second multi-dual of the 2023 season and will be scoring against Caltech and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on April 1, 2023 on the Bill Henry Track.
