Redlands, CA – The Occidental track and field team competed at their final meet of the year at the University of Redlands. The meet took place over two days and allowed the athletes to be pushed to their limits for the last time this season.
Emma Watkins had a big PR, beating her time from the week before in the 100m (12.73). Logan Morris competed for the first time this year and produced outstanding times in both the 100m and 200m (13.80 and 28.89, respectively).
In the 100m dash, seven athletes had lifetime bests. Chris Haliburton just keeps getting better, running a 10.63. The same can be said about Jack Spencer who ran a 10.93. Baruch Goodman and Nick Martin ended their senior seasons with a 10.98 and 11.25, respectively. Toby Searcy-Jorgensen ran a 11.17, Nagosa Atekha ran a 11.59, and Duncan Ellis ran a 11.78. Goodman, Martin, and Searcy-Jorgensen also had lifetime bests in the 200m (22.11, 22.31, 23.01 respectively). Additionally, Harrison Williams PR'd with a 23.46 and Jack Spencer had a season's best of 22.51, which allowed him to win his heat. In the 1500m, Amir Barkan placed third in his heat and third overall with Aidan Lindhe-Johan not too far behind in sixth overall. Williams also had an impressive PR in the 110m hurdles (16.41) and placed third overall. Jacob Torres placed second in the 400m hurdles.
And that is a wrap for the Tigers' 2023 season. Each Tiger showed immense improvement and became better athletes throughout the season. Surely, the Tigers will return to the track stronger than ever next season.
