Earlier this month, the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference released their all-conference honors, and our men's track and field team had a stellar showing with multiple student-athletes earning recognition.
First-year sensation Shane Kawakami-Williams made an impressive debut, showcasing his versatility and speed across multiple sprinting events. Kawakami-Williams secured a third-place finish in the men's 100 meter dash with a remarkable time of 10.69 seconds. He followed this with a strong second-place finish in the men's 200 meter dash, clocking in at 21.66 seconds. Additionally, Kawakami-Williams played a crucial role in both relay teams that achieved second-place finishes.
The 4x100 meter relay team, featuring senior Christopher Haliburton, Kawakami-Williams, and first-years Oliver Yue and Emerson Ames, delivered a commendable performance with a time of 41.08, earning them second place.
The 4x400 meter relay, the team composed of senior Jonah Magill, first-year Zachary McGraw, Yue, and Kawakami-Williams, clocked a time of 3:18.81, securing another second-place finish for the team.
Junior Amir Barkan demonstrated his endurance and skill in the men's 1500 meter run, finishing third with a time of 3:53.12.
Magill showcased his prowess in the men's 400 meter hurdles, earning third place with a time of 54.17 seconds.
Junior Renn Stearns capped off the individual honors by finishing third in the men's 3000 meter steeplechase, recording a time of 9:13.99.
