NEW ORLEANS, La. – The U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced its 2024 Academic Awards on Thursday, January 30. Both the Men's and Women's teams and Jenna LeNay were recognized as groups that excelled on the course and in the classroom.

Both teams boasted GPAs over 3.5 with the men's team earning a 3.55 GPA and a 3.65 GPA for the women's team.

Jenna LeNay was one of 15 women's athletes from the SCIAC to be named to the individuals list. This marks the second time the junior majoring in Kinesiology has earned USTFCCCA All-Academic honors.

THOUGHTS FROM COACH BARTLETT
"We're incredibly proud of our team's academic achievement last Fall," said Head Coach Rob Bartlett. "The team's success isn't just measured in miles; they are going the distance in the classroom too. Showing that Occidental provides our student-athletes the opportunity to thrive on and off the course."

Occidental Cross Country athletes prepare to switch surfaces as track season approaches. Distance runners get their first shot at the 2025 season later this month.
